Mail Order Rugs have been online since 2005 and in 2008 we added a specialist rug outlet the Funky Rug Shop in the Northeast of England so that our many customers can also visit us in person. We have been selling rugs for over twelve years and our staff have many years experience in sourcing and selling rugs, so if you have any questions you know that you will be getting good advice.

Making choosing easy

The range we have on offer is huge, with all kinds of shapes, colours, textiles and textures to choose from so there is bound to be something for everyone. For those new to buying rugs by mail order, the system is simplicity itself. On the home page are three categories which will help you to make your selection. These are style, colour and shape. When you click on one of them – for example, ‘shaggy’ – you will be taken to the page where all the shaggy rugs on offer are listed and on that page there are more choices you can make, to make your choice more specific. You will be able to choose colour, size and even the brand. In this way, with just a few clicks you can find the rug you want. It is easy to go back and start again and just think – you can do all this without leaving the house!

Mix and Match your décor

Sometimes it can be a problem when you go shopping for rugs or cushions to know whether you have got the colour right. Going to the shops with a bundle of swatches can be a bit cumbersome and some shops have such unusual lighting conditions it is sometimes hard to tell. Although some computer monitors don’t always have totally accurate colour reproduction, it is even so far easier to take the rug to the setting (by moving your laptop) than to take the setting to the rug. You can have a lot of fun looking through the different colour choices on offer – and there are loads to choose from – until you find the perfect rug for your room. Many of our customers find that they come across the perfect colour to cheer up a dark corner or to brighten a neutral room by browsing in a colour way they would not even contemplate if they saw it in a shop. Be bold – have fun!

Size is important

Mail Order Rugs stock rugs of all sizes, from doormat size to a mighty 240x340 cm – for those who don’t think metric, that is approximately 8 feet by 12 feet. There are very few shops which can manage to have rugs in so many sizes all in stock (we have almost fifty sizes in total) but because we store our stock from a large warehouse and also order from our suppliers in bulk, size is not a problem for us. Because our postage prices are based on the cost of the rug and not its weight or size, the larger rugs in our range usually come with free delivery – some addresses are not included in this offer, so please check the delivery prices.

The price is right

When you browse our rug range, you will notice that our prices are very reasonable but there is no need to worry about the quality of the rug of your choice. We can keep our prices low by buying in bulk, not by compromising on manufacture or materials. There is also no need to be concerned that our rugs have been made by exploited workers, all our rugs are sourced correctly and supplied by trusted manufacturers. With many of our rugs priced at under £20, you can give your home a little lift or a major makeover without breaking the bank.

Help when you need it

Buying a rug is not something you do every day and if you are making a fairly big purchase you may feel that you need a bit of help. In a shop of course that would come from the sales person but don’t worry – we are here to help in just the same way. If you need to know anything about the materials, manufacture or even what rug is best where. Our staff have many years of experience in selling and sourcing floor coverings and they will get back to you with advice as soon as possible. If you are still unsure about whether you are making the right choice, don’t worry; we have a no quibble returns policy, so you won’t be stuck with a rug which is after all not quite what you wanted.

Delivery & Returns

With the exception of Northern Ireland, the Highlands and Islands of Scotland and some other offshore addresses, postage is free for orders over £50. We aim to deliver within seven to twelve days and we have a no quibble return policy. We know that sometime a rug will prove to be unsuitable for some reason and as long as the item is undamaged, we will be pleased to have it returned to us and give a full refund. All we ask you to do is to carefully repack the rug in the original packaging and send it back at your own cost. Faulty goods are a separate issue and we ask that you let us know as soon as you notice anything is not as it should be. For this reason, it is a wise precaution to check that your rug is undamaged before you sign for it. Checking the packaging is important – if you think an item has been damaged in transit, let us know as soon as possible.
